Editorial Policy

How Stellr creates, verifies, and maintains astrological content. Last updated: May 2026.

Our Sources

All astrological interpretations on Stellr are grounded in classical Sanskrit texts and modern astronomical data:

  • Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra (BPHS) - the foundational text of Vedic astrology, attributed to Sage Parashara
  • Jaimini Sutras - classical text on predictive techniques including Chara Dasha and Karakas
  • Phala Deepika - Mantreswara's authoritative work on natal chart interpretation
  • Swiss Ephemeris DE431 - NASA JPL-derived planetary positions accurate to sub-arcminute precision
  • Lahiri Ayanamsa (Chitrapaksha) - the standard sidereal zodiac reference used by the Indian government and most Vedic astrologers worldwide

Fact-Checking Process

Every article, chart interpretation, and glossary definition passes through the following verification layers:

  1. Computational verification - All planetary positions, dasha calculations, and transit dates are verified against Swiss Ephemeris DE431. No interpretation is published without confirming the underlying astronomical data.
  2. Classical text cross-reference - Interpretations of yogas, dasha effects, and house meanings are checked against at least two classical sources, typically BPHS and Phala Deepika.
  3. Expert review - Articles on complex topics such as divisional charts, advanced dasha techniques, and remediation are reviewed by a practicing Vedic astrologer with minimum 10 years of client experience.
  4. Internal consistency audit - We verify that no article contradicts another article or the glossary. Definitions are standardized across all content.

AI-Human Collaboration

Stellr uses AI to accelerate content production, but never to replace human judgment on astrological accuracy:

  • AI generates first drafts based on structured briefs and classical source references
  • Human editors verify all Sanskrit terminology, planetary calculations, and interpretive claims
  • AI is never the final authority on predictive statements or remediation advice
  • All content is dated; articles older than 12 months are flagged for review and updated when astronomical or interpretive standards evolve

Accuracy & Limitations

We are transparent about what astrology can and cannot do:

  • Chart precision depends on birth time accuracy. A difference of 4 minutes can shift the ascendant by 1 degree; 2 hours can change the ascendant sign entirely.
  • Astrology describes tendencies and timing windows, not deterministic outcomes. Free will and context always matter.
  • Stellr does not provide medical, legal, or financial advice. Consult qualified professionals for these domains.
  • Remedial measures such as mantras, gemstones, and rituals are presented as traditional practices, not guaranteed solutions.
