Emotional safety first (Moon compatibility)
The most important compatibility factor in Vedic astrology is the Moon — your emotional nature. When two Moons harmonize, the relationship feels safe; you can rest with the person. When they clash, even strong attraction feels restless. Sun-sign compatibility misses this entirely, which is why Western sun-sign matches so often feel wrong in practice.
Attraction vs. lasting (Venus-Mars and the 7th lord)
The Venus-Mars dynamic between your charts shows chemistry and desire — the spark. But spark is not staying power. Whether it lasts is read from the 7th lords of both charts and the deeper structure: do your charts support commitment, or just attraction that burns and fades? Reading both tells you whether this is a relationship or a phase.
The traditional check (Kuta matching)
Vedic astrology has a centuries-old compatibility system (Ashtakuta / guna milan, plus Rajju, Vedha, and others) that scores how two charts fit across emotional, physical, and karmic dimensions. It is more rigorous than any sun-sign quiz, and it is read from both real birth charts — which is the only way "are we compatible" gets a real answer rather than a guess.
